DESCRIPTION
Family medicine physician--work in a thriving family medicine department that provides primary and preventative care to KCHC's adult and pediatric patient population. The new physician will join as a full-time employee. The health center may provide relocation expenses.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES
- Provide primary medical care by diagnosing and treating the Center's adult patient population. Care includes: annual physicals and sport physicals, chronic disease management, and flu & pneumonia vaccinations
- Provide in-patient pediatric care and arrange for adult patient admissions through a hospitalist group located at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston, NC
- Promote preventative care and health maintenance through individual counseling as well as center-based health promotion activities
- Provide after hour call coverage as required
- Make appropriate referrals to required specialist services and conduct proper follow-up to assure continuity of care is provided
- Demonstrate proficiency in the utilization of the Electronic Health Record and provide timely completion and maintenance of patient charts as per the Center's policies and procedures
- Attend all medical staff meetings and participate in the health center's performance improvement program
MININMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy
- Completion of an approved residency program in family practice
- Board certified or Board eligible
- License to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina
- PALS, BLS, & ACLS certifications preferred
